Van is a multi-genre television and feature writer with an undeniably unique approach to interrogating the human condition through unconventional worlds and plot.
A self-proclaimed “critical technophile”, Van is most drawn to telling stories that live at the intersection of technology, race, gender, and class.
At its core, Van’s work explores how technology shapes our deepest individual and collective identities, desires and fears as we all trek onward into an increasingly complex and interconnected world.
Van is a 2024 Disruptors Fellow and 2022 Hillman Grad Mentorship Lab Mentee.
Van is currently writing their first feature, a trans coming-of-age meets psychological tech thriller with Day Zero Productions.
When they’re not writing, Van hosts an evening pop-up cafe called “bewritethere” out of their apartment for screenwriters of color to co-write and cultivate community.
